Loris Diran is pleased to announce the opening of his first New York City flagship store. This Luxury boutique will be the home of both his mens bespoke and womens high end collections.
Located in the heart of downtown Manhattan on First Street off Bowery, Loris, and a team of independent designers have created a luxurious 1000 square foot boutique inspired by mid-century modernism.
The colors for the boutique are light neutrals, as Loris Diran's collections always anchor themselves in a natural palette.
Tones of gunmetal gray and cream are textured in Venetian plaster wall treatments and backlit mirrors trickle a glow from every crevice, finishing the effect. Light plays a very key role in the way the different textures (hard vs. soft and smooth vs. rough) combine to create a seamless elegance.
A stream lined mid-century lounge area and a unique railing system of realistically metal cast trees and branch inspired furnishings compliment the lighting and textures. A magnificent hand-crafted Venetian glass and cast metal chandelier crowns the space and harkens back to the minimal and stark elegance of Loris Diran's family home in mid-century Lake of Como, Italy. The unique design brings together a marriage of industrial strength, luxurious comfort, and nature's intricacy, which, again, is the basis for all of Loris Diran's inspirations; Industrial meets Natural and all things in between.
Diran says; The inspirations for both my Mens and Womens collections are consistently rooted in mid-century modernism, as well as my European upbringing. A big, clean lined house, overlooking Lake of Como, with hints of romance here and there are what I remember most, be it sculpted bronze vines adorning the railing of a concrete staircase or a grand chandelier hung over a barren banquet table. I wanted this boutique to bring together where I am from, as well as where I am today as the result,"
The merchandise selection will feature Hand Tailored Custom Suiting, Coats, Trousers and Shirts for men and women cut from some unexpected fabrics, as well as a bespoke program that will offer Made to Measure options for both. All are manufactured by the last of the Bespoke Tailor Shops here in the U.S.A. Prices range from $2000 and up.
This is also true for the womens cocktail collection that will feature softer offerings, focusing on Chiffons, Duchess Satins, Cashmeres, and Fantasy Tweeds. Hand Knits of lush Cashmeres and Silk yarns are crafted into dresses and form fitting cardigans, as well as hearty varsity sweaters for ultra slim pullovers for men.
A signature Crown of Thorns collection of Sterling Silver and 18 Karat Gold Jewelry and accessories for men and women complete the offerings
As for why Loris Diran chose the Bowery to launch his flagship retail effort, he says, As a New York City teenager, I spent an enormous amount of time down on Bowery. Rough as it was back then, it had a unique kind of energy that emanated from its grand past, as well as the post punk youth culture it hosted and that I was so much a part of. I believe its recent resurgence is fueled by the same creative spirit as it had back then and, no matter where I went thru the years, I always defined myself as a product of it. It seems fitting that the Bowery and I come back together again as we both move into a new chapter in our creative journeys".
