'ILLUMINATION'
Spring / Summer 2008
The LORIS DIRAN Spring/Summer 2008 collection, entitled ‘ILLUMINATION’, literally reflects the exuberance and freedom that Diran feels at this junction in his life and career.
Metallic Silk Chiffons combined with Silk Brocades and Vintage Linen and Lame Tweeds lit up the runway in accents of Gold and Silver on a neutral palette of Butter, Crème, Midnight and Ebony. Says Diran, “After spending a great deal of time searching for ways to stay understated, I felt the strongest desire to celebrate light and shine in a collection that I feel still retains its wearability and remains relevant.”
As always, Diran also explores the juxtaposition of straight lines and flowing shapes in his on-going fascination with architecture. “Architecture of the human form comes into play for this collection as I combine sharp angles with a feminine drape to create a kind of visual contradiction.”
This electrifying collection of new designs are scupted from 4 ply Silk Crepes, Metallic Silk Webbed Chiffons, Crepe Back Silk Lames, woven chiffons, Vintage Metallic Tweeds, Cotton/Linen Boucles, as well as luxurious Silk and Wool Tropical Gabardines.
