'GRAND DAME'
Fall / Winter 2007-2008
The Fall/Winter 2007-08 collection reveals an uncompromising point of view that reflects luxury at it’s most opulent.
Says Diran, “Walking down Madison Avenue on a grey afternoon, I was taken by the surreal beauty of the urban skyline. I watched the silver grey hues that blended into the golden sunset and I wondered what that boulevard was like 50 years ago; about a world where elegance was a way of life. I wanted to create a collection that was an ode to that sensibility yet feels fresh to a new generation”.
Mr. Diran presented a collection of structured designs that reflect the spirit of the great ladies of New York’s “Carriage trade”. A long ago world where opulence was at a premium and sophistication was its own gift.
Utilizing only fabrics of the ultimate luxury such as Duchess Satin, Silk Wool, fantasy Tweeds and vintage chiffon prints, Mr. Diran’s stark palette of Smoke, champagne, chocolate, and Jet incorporates demi-couture hand work into the designs to create something unique.
