Spring / Summer 2007
Inspired by the images of Twiggy and Jean Shrimpton photographed by the Upstart Photographers of Sixties London...David Hemmings and the super model Verushka rolling in orgasmic ecstasy during a photo shoot in the 1966 film, ‘Blow Up’...And the image of the so young and rakish Mick Jagger in a super slim suit before he discovered Glam rock, LORIS DIRAN COUTURE Spring 2007 collection is not so much an ode to this bygone era as it is a vision of where this esthetic finds it's relevance in today's return to structure.
Reflecting on one of the most architectural periods in modern fashion history, Diran explores how that sense of linear translates to today's emphasis on hand finish and 'Demi-couture' detail; How to take a very structured silhouette and relax it in both form and fabrication.
Cut from rich couture fabrics ranging from pearlized Linens, Silk Cotton voiles, and Silk Dupioni Twills in Gunmetal Gray and shimmering Silver, to chiffons and charmueses in prints that reflect the rebirth of spring such as Lavender and Gold, the Women’s collection is resplendent in unique jacquards, ultra lightweight tweeds and Cotton boucles.
The Men’s collection offers a rare collection of vintage couture fabrics that are a precious reminder of what made the Sixties a stellar moment in fashion. Due to the finite nature of the materials, this is a limited edition series.
Always true to his dedication to bespoke quality and couture finish, LORIS DIRAN COUTURE Women’s collection will follow suit in attention to detail and silhouette. In keeping with this idea, both collections are produced by the finest ateliers in the USA specializing in hand tailored product.
