SPRING 2009
COLLECTIONS
HOME
This spring 2009 collection features both Mens and Womens items, and was inspired by the startling and provocative series of Art photography of Flowers created by the late 80s legend, ROBERT MAPPLETHORPE and reflects the artists dark vision of intricate floral silhouettes.
Petals and blossom shapes emerge in hues of shimmering pewter, iridescent jet, and pearlescent cream, all accented by a splash of startling Magenta, creating a striking view of floral beauty that has little to do with the standard use of these delicate forms and never literal.
Deciding to create my first boutique in New Yorks Bowery district has made me re-evaluate how I view elegance. I feel my collections should now have a sense of proportion and detail that is somewhat Left of center. I want to take something that is classically demure and give it a touch of eclectism.
Raw silk Herringbone and superfine Cashmere Twill is cut super slim and shrunken for menswear, as Neck lines and hems blossom from cotton organdy and iridescent chiffon in unnatural metallic tones for womens wear, creating a sense of something sensual and darkly alluring.
