Winning isnt everything, but....... WHAT A MOMENT!

One of the most poignant moments of one's designer career is the acknowledgement of one's work by one's peers.
Winning the FASHION GROUP INTERNATIONAL's 'Rising Star' Award for Best Menswear of 2011 was that moment for me. What made it even more thrilling was receiving it in the presence of old friends like Designers Catherine Malandrino and Norma Kamali, whom I had the pleasure of working for some years ago.
Norma represents the best in an independent designer, with her resilience and deep commitment to her vision.... I wasnt kidding when I credited her with teaching me that survival is the most important aspect to being an Independent brand.
In the End, I believe my quote, "Life without a dream to pursue, is not living' says it all.... for all of us.
